Our Favorite Hygge Articles Featured in Bella Grace
Here at Bella Grace, we are big fans of hygge, so much so that we’ve created an entire special edition called The Cozy Issue to celebrate it! If you haven’t heard of hygge, it is “a Danish word used when acknowledging a feeling or moment, whether alone or with friends, at home or out, ordinary or extraordinary as cozy, charming or special” (definition by Hygge House). As we continue to welcome the coziest time of year, here is a selection of our favorite hygge articles featured in past issues of Bella!

The Art of Cozy Living with the Danish Concept of Hygge
In The Cozy Issue Volume 1, Betsy Kay shares her experience reading The Cozy Life: Rediscover the Joy of the Simple Things Through the Danish Concept of Hygge. She explains, “Hygge means curling up with a good book and a hot cup of tea under a comfy blanket…I’m struck by the many similarities between things that are soothing to highly sensitive people and the concepts of hygge. No wonder Denmark is known as one of the happiest countries in the world.”
Embracing Cozy, Snowflake Upon Snowflake
Carina Alanson discusses what it’s like to live in Alaska how she embraces the cozy rather than bracing for the cold inside Issue 22.
Keeping that Hygge Feeling Through Every Season
In this Cozy Issue Volume 2 article by Meg Magnusson, you’ll discover simple ways to practice hygge throughout each season no matter the weather!
Confessions of a Cozy Convert
Also amongst pages of The Cozy Issue Volume 2, Amanda Brown confesses that she hasn’t always liked cozy things. In this piece, she describes her realization that coziness is the physical manifestation of being safe — being OK.
A Tuesday Hygge Night
English teacher, Schuyler McConkey inspires us to dedicate one evening a week finding solace in hygge. In Issue 23, she explains, “No matter how much time work took, I kept Tuesday night sacred. Every week the pull to work instead cycled around…in good times and in bad, the important thing was to keep the life-giving hours routine.”
