Thank You for Teaching Me

What do you say to the woman who taught you all you know?

To the woman who taught you unconditional love, particularly during every argument you had with her when you still saw nothing but love in her eyes. To the woman who taught you compassion, picking you up when you felt broken, and holding you when you needed a shoulder to cry on. To the woman who protected you, nurtured you, and raised you to be the person you are today.

To the woman who gave you everything she could, and never asked for anything in return.

If there’s one thing we can say, it’s thank you, for all you have taught us.

Our Instagram followers share exactly what valuable lessons they learned from their mothers, and how those lessons shaped them into the people they are today.

25 Life Lessons from Mom

Thank you for teaching me to see the beauty in my surroundings; that wherever you are and wherever life leads, there is beauty to enjoy, breathe in, and be a part of. You have taught me to truly look and see and find inspiration and to recklessly and passionately create with it. Thank you for being my eyes when I couldn’t see and for being my inspiration when I could. – @jenn1616

Thank you for teaching me how to work hard and how not to wait on others in order to do what needs to be done. Thank you for instilling in me a self-initiative and motivation that has served me well and for teaching me the joy of a job well done. Thank you for teaching me the beautiful gift of resilience. We experienced great adversity; losing everything when I was young… it was a painful time. Rather than view these experiences as wounds that I need healing from, she told me I’ve instead developed unique muscles that give me the extraordinary ability to handle more strain and stress than most. You see muscles are only developed through periods of intense stress and pain, but over a period of rest and recovery grow back stronger working at a higher level than its former counterparts. It’s because of this life lesson that I have pushed myself harder than most, and have sacrificed more than most to get to where I want to be….. I am now living my dream life. I wouldn’t be if it wasn’t for that strong resilience muscle my mother instilled in me. I am eternally grateful for that. – @mrs_financial_freedom

Thank you for teaching me that to be emotionally strong is everything – once you have mastered this, you have mastered life, as you possess the ability to deal with whatever life throws your way. You have acted as a role model to me in so many ways, but to be emotionally strong is a quality that I will always appreciate learning from you – and God knows I have required much emotional strength already in my life. You have dealt with your lot in life with grace and determination; you have never allowed anything to defeat you and for this I will always be grateful… – @helenathemexican

Thank you for teaching me to have a generous heart and spirit, to take time to make others feel special by doing, cooking, listening, to always remember their birthdays and special occasions!! You were an amazing role model, I am forever grateful!! – @jeanettemstewart

Thank you for teaching me the importance of making time to be creative even when your days were filled with working on the family farm and rearing five children. You stayed up late to sew beautiful clothing and quilts for your family, while feeding your own need to play with beautiful fabrics and learn new things. Now I’m happy to carry on that tradition, making space in my day for creativity and fun, even when dust bunnies collide on the wood floor. – @joyfully_tracie

My mom shows me the beauty of life and how we should cherish every moment of it. She is a hardworking, single mom of 3. She makes me a better person each day by showing me how dedicated she is and even through the rough times my mom doesn’t even show it, instead she shows me how strong she is and how there is always light at the end of the tunnel. My momma can rip through anything that comes at her. She is inspirational, courageous, fearless, and always ready to take on the world and I wanna be just like her. – @lilybreezeblog

My mom has always been a kind and giving person. She helps those in need and always provides me and my siblings with what she could. My mom has been supportive of my dreams and would not let anything get in my way. She is a true inspiration. She is a mother, a wife, a business owner, and so much more. “My mother taught me that you can’t truly appreciate something unless you’ve worked hard for it. She currently has a full-time job, a business, and goes to nursing school. Everyone, including her teachers, told her it simply could not be done. Now she is about to begin her final semester. Her passion and drive are relentless, and I remind myself of this when I feel like giving up. She is and always has been my hero.” – Bree More | Bella Grace Issue 11

Aw, this was a really good post. Taking a few minutes and actual effort to generate a superb article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a lot and never manage to get anything
    done.
