Life in Florida is like having summer all year long. And I love it! The summer is my favorite season because going to the beach is like a trip to the supermarket. You can go in the morning or late afternoon, and if you live on the West Coast you get to watch the amazing pink sunsets. Everyone comes out after work with their working clothes and cameras, as if they’re seeing it for the first time. We can’t seem to get enough of the crystal clear oceans and pink sunsets, and I’m grateful for that.

Summertime early evening it’s magical to me. The sunset, the birds seem to be chirping good night, the crickets star their chorus symphony, the fireflies dance their ballet and the magnolias exude their fragrance in the nocturnal breeze. All your senses get saturated with the magic of summer.

There is a laziness to summer. Things seem to slow down to be enjoyed longer. Strolling through a Farmer’s markets on a Saturday morning, sitting on the grass in the park listening to music on a Friday evening, savoring the last sip of homemade lemonade. This is summer.

Summer- a time of fireflies twinkling in the early evening light.
Summer- a time to light sparklers and eat watermelon and let both drip down.
Summer- a time of homemade cookies and lemonade on the porch.
Summer has a magic all of its own!

Summertime is a wonderful chance to slow down, enjoy the suns rays warming me to my soul after a cold Winter, being like a kid again and eating popsicles while reflecting on the joy of swimming during the day, and watching the tiny flickers of the fireflies lighting up the field.

Summertime spent in the garden is refreshment for the soul. How lovely it is to spend time with my husband, visiting butterflies and birds, and my tow adorable cats while nurturing the flowers that are miraculously blooming.
