15 Inspirational Emily Dickinson Quotes to Live By

When I told my older cousin about this piece I was writing he said, “Emily Dickinson, she was quite a recluse,” but that is not why I decided upon her for my piece.

Emily Dickinson – the now well known American Poet, was not well known in her time, and yet she created anyway. She had to, because writing was clearly one of the biggest parts of her purpose here on Earth, to communicate these words in such a unique form that they now impact our lives today.

Emily Dickinson was an American poet who lived in the 19th century. Her poems are known for their inspirational and introspective nature. While her works may not seem like they have much to do with gambling or online casinos, some of her famous quotes can have a significant impact on those who enjoy different gambling games, about which you can read more in review by TerraCasino experts.

One such quote is “Luck is not chance, it’s toil; fortune’s expensive smile is earned.” This quote reminds us that success in any endeavor, including gambling, requires hard work and determination. It also suggests that winning at the casino is not just about luck but also involves strategy and skill.

Another Dickinson quote that resonates with online casino lovers is “Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul.” This quote encourages gamblers to hold onto hope no matter what.

These quotations below are some of my favorites. She is a reminder that we each have a unique purpose here, and whether it is recognized in our time or not, we must do what comes closest to our heart, because that is the mark we were created to leave. It is our life’s work. She may have had trouble accepting this herself, but she was a writer, and she wrote, and these messages came through the strong voice she innately had inside of her.

Gambling and literature may seem like two completely unrelated subjects, but the world of casino players has recently been finding inspiration in one of America’s most well-known poets: Emily Dickinson. Her quotes about life, death, and everything in between have struck a chord with those who frequent casinos, whether they are playing slots at https://gamblebeaver.com/ or sitting at the poker table.

One of Dickinson’s most famous quotes reads, “Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul.” This quote has become a mantra for many gamblers who are looking for that glimmer of hope when things aren’t going their way. Whether they’re down on their luck at the blackjack table or trying to hit it big on the roulette wheel, this quote reminds them to stay positive and keep pushing forward.

1. “Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul – and sings the tunes without the words – and never stops at all.”

There is always hope, and it is magical. You can’t ever stop believing in it’s potential, even in the most difficult times, hope is still there – Perching in the soul with its bright feathers, and humming continuously the sweetest song always.

2. “I dwell in possibility.”

If you dwell in possibility, you are open, and therefore it’s more likely that you will receive what is right and true to you.

3. “Unable are the loved to die, for love is immortality.”

Everyone is loved by someone, and to give love is the greatest thing about life. It’s truly living, and it is everlasting!

4. “That it will never come again is what makes life sweet.”

We need to practice savoring the good, appreciating the difficult, and living for the now.

5. “They might not need me; but they might. I’ll let my head be just in sight; a smile as small as mine might be precisely their necessity.”

Making a difference revolves around simply being thankful and giving to others with even a smile. Even a smile makes a huge difference.

6. “To love is so startling it leaves little time for anything else.”

It’s the most profound and important part of life.

7. “If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain.”

People come to us at certain times in our lives, and I believe it’s our greatest choice to receive and give love.

8. “The soul should always stand ajar, ready to welcome the ecstatic experience.”

You never know the beautiful things that could come your way if you stay open and not debilitated by hurt or anger.

9. “To make a prairie it takes a clover and one bee, One clover, and a bee, And reverie. The reverie alone will do, If bees are few.”

Love is the answer.

10. “Not knowing when the dawn will come I open every door.”

You never know what will come. Stay bright!

11. “A wounded deer leaps the highest.”

You often gain strength from those difficult times. You ascend to more of what you are capable of being and achieving.

12. “My friends are my estate.”

It’s difficult to find true friends, but when you do, they become your world. We must take care of our friends, and show them how much they mean to us. It’s the beauty in life.

13. “Forever is composed of nows.”

It is valuing each and every step.

14. “Finite to fail, but infinite to venture.”

When you venture, you always gain!

15. “The brain is wider than the sky.”

There is always something to learn, love, and see.

None of these are easy, and I am by no means saying that I have mastered these, but to work every day toward feeling what these quotations express is a step, I believe, toward living a more satisfying, bright and beautiful life!

In beautiful thought provoking words, Emily Dickinson calls us to hope. Not always outrightly, sometimes underneath or buried in the center, but hope is always there. She has made me see the necessity of hope, without it, what is life?

I found Emily Dickinson one of them an emotional heart to be very practical through through in her poetry surpassing negativity to positivity through her great experience. She put her vision through positive and true using very soft corner of his heart,I like her, I would never like to say she had wider mind, Either she has mentioned
wilderness of mind ,but something wider that can not be commence through words. She was a practical lady;to be practical for everyone,It is her wonder, would be live long for all time, not only we,but forth coming generation would be inspired by her poetry, Thank you.

Hi Christie, I recently ‘rediscovered’ Emily Dickinson after listening to a podcast, with further browsing I discovered your blog. Thank you for summarizing her delicate yet profound quotes. Since you are a blog writer, and obviously appreciative of strong writing, I thought you might welcome a small grammatical correction for your future work. Your sentence ‘You can’t ever stop believing in it’s potential’ should read ‘…its potential…’ not …’it’s potential’ as ‘it’s’ is the contraction of ‘it is’ vs. the possessive which has no apostrophe.

Her appeal is universal due to one primary reason: the ability to use and understand the meaning and music of words when aligned with one’s thoughts.

This is what distinguishes true poetry from dross.

Or, as another poet once wrote:

“These are the words wrought right from Love/that all take to heart what my heart has said:/ you were my World, and the Wonder thereof.”

Keep reading poetry and keep posting , Joanna!

I’ve been reading poetry on and off for the past few months, and not once have I understood poetry as much as when I read Emily Dickinson’s works. They were simply so relatable, as though I were peering into a window of light and hope, made just for those who wander in the fog. But it’s not just her works; the magic courses through her very blood. Emily Dickinson is a wondrous lady experiencing the world through a unique lens, then blending her paradoxical thoughts into the brilliance of language. Her enigmatic and reclusive nature, love for love and humanity, embracing of the natural world, as well as deep insights of death, life, nature and immortality speak to my heart, for I too have lived my life misunderstood and out of place.
