Must-Haves for a “Bella” Picnic

The idea of a picnic is filled with romance and coziness. What could be lovelier than a delicious meal enjoyed outdoors in the fresh air? Simply the thought of a beautifully packed picnic basket is enough to make many of us swoon. Whether you’re enjoying it with a romantic partner or a group of friends or even by yourself, a picnic is a wonderful way to make an ordinary occasion seem extra special. Here are a few Bella-approved picnic must-haves…

Must-Haves for a “Bella” Picnic

1. Patchwork quilt

Spread out your favorite quilt on the lawn for your picnic. You can usually find patchwork quilts at your local thrift/antique store. They have so much character and are made with love!

2. Homemade baked goods

Muffins and scones make delightful picnic treats. Use a beloved family recipe or use this opportunity to try a Pinterest recipe you’ve had tucked away.

3. Journal and pen

What better time would there be to pick up your journal than when you’re surrounded by beauty? Bring a journal and pen along to jot down your thoughts and sweet sentiments.

4. A book (or issue of Bella Grace!)

There’s something special about getting lost in the pages of a story outside with the fresh air against your skin. Browse our collection of classic books or Bella Grace issues to bring along with you!

5. Camera

Most of us have cameras on our phones but it can be particularly magical to capture moments in a more old-fashioned way. Bring along a real camera (or even a polaroid one!) to help remember your sweet afternoon.

I’d add some homemade bug spray, some pillows to lounge upon, some cool homemade peppermint body spritz, and of course a loved one to share it all with.

I would also pack some homemade rosemary or lavender lemonade, a hat, and maybe even a board game!
