How to Celebrate Life Quietly

While we encourage you to celebrate everything in life, we know this can look different for everyone. The over-the-top gestures and events that some may bask in will send others looking for a place to hide. It’s a common misconception that introverts don’t want to celebrate things – they do, just not in the same way extroverts would prefer.

Here are 10 ways to celebrate life’s events — big or small — quietly …

  1. Grab a close friend and go for a pedicure and a couple hours of window shopping, ending your outing with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.
  2. Host a board game night with just a few people. It can be difficult for introverts to initiate small talk, but conversations naturally flow when playing a game.
  3. Take a trip somewhere by yourself. Even a night at a nearby hotel can feel like the ultimate luxury.
  4. Pick up a slice of cake from the grocery store, and eat it in your pajamas while reading a good book.
  5. Plan a movie night with popcorn, soda, and candy. You can enjoy others’ company without too much conversation.
  6. Purchase a small piece of jewelry (it doesn’t have to be expensive) that will remind you of your big accomplishment whenever you wear it.
  7. Treat yourself to the ultimate “you” day. Do everything that brings you joy. Take a long bath; linger at the bookstore; order your favorite takeout … it’s your day.
  8. Find a beautiful journal and use it to record all the big and small things worth celebrating.
  9. Invite a couple people to dinner at a restaurant you’ve been wanting to try. Food brings people together, and you’ll be able to head home for some quiet after you’ve enjoyed your dessert.
  10. Get all dressed up. Put on your fanciest outfit, and do your hair and makeup. Then, stay home and enjoy your own company.

Love all these great ideas because most of us are still stuck at home and being an introvert due to covid. Lovely ideas!!

I celebrated myself recently by going for a facial for the first time in my life. It was the most relaxing experience of pampering myself I have ever done. To me, it is better than buying a new pair of shoes!
