As a writer, there are times when I feel that words are either unnecessary or out of place. It might seem strange that a writer might ever think such a thought, much less pen it!
Many are under the impression, that writers always have a plethora of words at their disposal. Those who do not write, may not understand the tension a writer feels when searching for that oh so perfect word to adequately express what their heart longs to say.
The week is nearly over though I’m convinced it just started.
It’s funny how much quicker time seems to go by as we get older. Our days are so packed to the brim with appointments and deadlines and all that other boring adult stuff that we don’t have the time to stop and take note of the tiny, wonderful moments in our lives.
I have noticed that humans have beautiful moments, and humans alone are very beautiful things.
They don’t know that they are being beautiful, because most people associate beauty with photoshop and fashion lines and neat little makeup kits sold at the pharmacy. But in actuality, humans are beautiful, just in the way that they are.
The sound of a choir singing together brings to mind harmony, exaltation, a blissful sound.
It is uplifting and joyous. It can move us emotionally and with great power. What happens when the choir sings off key? We are startled by it. We are uncomfortable with it. We look forward to when it ends.
The first time I stepped foot in the Downey City Library, I couldn’t believe my eyes.
Shelf after shelf was filled with books just waiting to be picked up and devoured, and all you had to do was show the woman working at the counter a piece of plastic? I felt as though I had truly found heaven on Earth. I would load up my book bag with all kinds of stories, read them all, and return so I could repeat the process all over again.
